Bohdan is an orphan. He and his brothers and sisters are raised by their grandmother. In total, there are five children in the family. They all live in the little village of Plotyna, located 10 kilometres away from the front line of the East of Ukraine.

There is a forest around the village and there are minefields in the forest. Children are safe from taking a fatal step only by a virtue of a miracle.

Bohdan and his family are constantly in need of food, hygiene products and clothes.
