An exhibition dedicated to children from frontline territories of Ukraine has opened in Ukrinform

Kyiv, Ukraine.

On the 4th of July 2016, an exhibition “Children in war” has opened in Ukrinform with the support of BO, “Balto-Chornomorskyy Blagodiynyy Fond” (the Baltic-Black Sea Charity Fund).

At the press conference dedicated to this occasion, there were discussions about helping children from the frontline territories and psychological adaptation of those who were forced to leave their homes in Donbas.

“The photo-exhibition “Children in War” is a result of travels and a few years of living in the territories that are located in the frontline area of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, particularly Stanytsia Luhanska, Mar’inka and Avdiivka. It is a result of communications within the medium of global projects with teachers and students, who made a decision to stay there for different reasons. It is an attempt to show that life goes on in these territories despite any circumstances, such as gunfire and everyday shootings. Children laugh, cry, study and have their own problems…” . The projects realised by the Fund are “investments in future” of their own kind. We want to build a foundation of peaceful life within the unified and successful Ukraine. Nowadays, 10 thousand students continue to go to school within the 30-kilometre frontline zone of Donbas.

One of the photographers, Nina Grushetska, also participated in the press-conference.

After the exhibition demonstration in Ukrinform, “Children in War” is planned to be shown in the countries of Baltic region and Europe.
